Nearly five million Malaysians face diabetes risk, says Lukanisman

Malaysian Diabetes Educators Society (MDES) is proud to announce the Stand Against Pre-diabetes (SAPd) program that launched its Prediabetes Screening, Diagnosis and Management Promotion Campaign to Prevent Onset of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus on 24th April 2024.

This campaign aims to educate and encourage the public to verify their risk status by undergoing screening tests and collaborating with healthcare experts to manage their pre-diabetic conditions for the sake of their health.

‘Check, Confirm, Consult and Change’

With more than 5 millions Malaysians are at risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, the public is encouraged to go for screening, seek confirmation test and consultation with professional healthcare provider to evoke healthy lifestyle changes as the first line of defence against this costly disease. 

 

 
A website has been set up at https://standagainstprediabetes.my that provide excellent resources on pre-diabetes risk screening and information on self-management.

MDES look forward to the success of diabetes prevention in Malaysia with inclusive involvement of the public and healthcare providers.
