According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2019, diabetes was the ninth leading cause of death with an estimated 1.5 million deaths directly caused by diabetes. Hence, this year, Selangor FC and Sanofi coming together in driving a campaign to curb the disease through a program called “War Against Diabetes”. The organizers are joining the global initiative to raise awareness of Diabetes, and to encourage its prevention, detection, and management.

 

The event was hosted by Selangor FC and Sanofi, together with several other partners including Diabetes Malaysia (DM), Malaysian Diabetes Educators Society (MDES), doctors and experts from Ministry of Health and National Diabetes Institute Malaysia (NADI).

 

This event was graced by Honorable Guests His Highness DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Raja Muda Selangor, YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Health Malaysia, Marine Queniart-Stojanovic, General Manager of General Medicines, Sanofi Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore, and Country Lead of Thailand & Malaysia, and Selangor FC First Team Members and Player.
